On 5th December we flew from Heathrow to Miami, spent the night in Miami, met up with Cathy & Clay the following day when we all flew from Miami to Panama City, Panama. We spent a week with the The Canopy People in the Canopy Lodge in the Forest of the El Valle de Anton, exploring the birds and mammals of the region, it was a beautiful and rewarding place to visit and stay, with excellent guiding. The second week we spent, also with The Canopy People, at the Canopy Tower which is a converted US Radar Tower in the middle of the Soberania National Park, staying here is an experience not to be missed - despite the stairs !!, surrounded by birds and wildlife with views of the Panama Canal from the roof of the tower. Finally our last few days were spent in the Marriott Hotel in Panama City with fabulous views of Panama Bay, here we arranged to visit the Metro Park, Monkey Island, the Old Town ruins and a trip on the Panama Canal including a trip through the locks. We spent Christmas in Panama City, flying home on 28th December. It was a fabulous trip, we met some lovely people, The Canopy Family looked after us exceptionally, and we found Panama to be a lovely friendly country - and a hot climate !!!
